If you enjoy walking and being in the outdoors this could be the Group for you.
Our Group is part of the Scottish and National Ramblers Association, but we are simply known as the "Ramblers".
We have a current membership of around 200 but needless to say we don't all turn out for every outing.
We provide organised low level and hill walks on (mainly) Saturdays on distances varying between five and twelve miles.
In addition we generally run mid week walks on Wednesdays, and these walks usually take place around the local parks and surrounding areas
Our single day outings are usually within a sixty miles radius of Clarkston Halls car park (the point from where we normally set off by car).
We also run 'car free' walks.
Clarkston is in East Renfrewshire and is five miles South of Glasgow city centre. (Click here)
Find it on Ordnance Survey map 64, grid reference NS573576.
The area is served by First Bus Services 4,4A and 6 from Glasgow.
The Glasgow to East Kilbride trains stop at the nearby Clarkston Station.
We also organise one or two bus runs during the year and a "weekend away" to more distant locations that involve overnight stays for up to three nights.
Additionally we have social events throughout the year.
